5 Things Your Realtor Should Be Doing During the Pandemic

In Wisconsin, real estate is considered essential (people need to move for one reason or another during this time) and realtors need to adjust to make sure everyone is staying safe. Here are the top 5 things your realtor should be doing during the "Safer at home" order.

1. Require Buyers to Have a Pre-approval

Your realtor should be dealing with serious buyers only. In order to keep you safe, and sane, you should only associate with people who are going to make your time and effort worth it.

2. No Overlapping Showings

If you have done all that you can virtually and need to make physical contact, be sure you are still practicing social distancing. Your realtor should space out showings in order to provide limited contact between you and other individuals involved in the process. 

3. Create a Virtual Tour of Your Home

If you are putting your house on the market, make sure there is a virtual 3D tour available to accurately showcase your home. Avoid stringing together photos or placing the Ken Burns effect on images and calling it a virtual tour. Due to the “Safer at home” order, buyers are prevented from the typical showings and rely on online resources for information. Therefore, quality virtual visuals are key in attracting buyers.  

4. Use Digital Signatures

As mentioned previously, there should be limited physical contact between you and your realtor. A mobile app makes it easy to sign documents with just a few clicks, and from the comfort of your own couch!

5. Sanitizer

Use it! For showings, have buyers bring a mask and gloves to wear as well. Your realtor can also leave hand sanitizer in case the buyers don’t have any, bonus tip: leave Clorox wipes for sellers to wipe down the house after a showing.  If you need more information on this one, contact the CDC. :)
